Jesse Stratton Band
The Jesse Stratton Band is a home-grown Hill Country favorite, blending Americana, alt-country, and rock influences to create a sound that's uniquely their own. With heartfelt lyrics, soulful melodies, and skilled musicianship, they bring a fresh, indie twist to their Southern roots, and are known for the captivating performances and raw energy they bring to the stage.
Jesse is the lead vocalist and songwriter of the band, and also plays guitar, saxophone, and harmonica. Alongside him are some of Central Texas' finest musicians - Tony Garossino (lead guitar, mandolin, pedal steel guitar), Alex Lugwa (drums, backing vocals), and Devin North (bass guitar). The band is frequently accompanied by Jesse's 17-year-old son, Joshua, who is adept at drums, bass guitar, tenor & alto saxophone, and backing vocals. Joshua has been performing with his father since the age of 8, and the two are at home together on stage. More recently, his daughters have been joining in as well - Aubrey on alto saxophone, Autumn on vocals, and Julia on tambourine.
A prolific songsmith, Jesse's musical journey includes seven studio albums, starting with 2013's Driving Home, progressing through Broken Strings (2014), Where It All Began (2016), Traction (2018), Family & Friends (2021), The Sounds & The Colors (2024), and 2026’s Reunion - a twelve-track journey that starts on the banks of the Blanco River, wanders through the Chippewa Valley, loads its luggage in a camper and its troubles on a train, hikes along the ridges of the Grand Canyon & Big Bend, swims in the Frio & at Balmorhea, watches the sunset over the hills, struggles to say goodbye, prays for rain, hopes for wings to spread in skies unseen, and carries on, even with fumes left in the tank, until the final note is played, which brings us back to where we started, where we always want to be - together again.
Jesse has been playing music since the age of 10, beginning with the alto saxophone. After serving as drum major in his high school marching band and playing guitar with friends in garages on the weekends, he began performing his own compositions publicly at the age of 18. Jesse strives to write meaningful songs and to give audiences a genuine performance, pulling inspiration from bands such as Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, the Marshall Tucker Band, Robert Earl Keen, Turnpike Troubadours, Old 97's, and Whiskey Myers.
Over the last 20-plus years, Jesse has played on countless stages, sharing his songs and stories with audiences along the way. He is proud to perform across the great state of Texas, and also tours throughout Wisconsin and the Midwest each summer. The Jesse Stratton Band was officially formed in 2014 and has since become a mainstay in the Central Texas music scene. Their unique sound fits the rolling landscape of the Texas Hill Country, where it originated, but resonates far beyond - earning fans from all walks of life.
